About Slow Tale Time

Slow Tale Time: Woodland Kindness Trail

Slow Tale Time: Woodland Kindness Trail is an interactive digital storybook for children aged 3 to 7. Twelve gentle tales follow one long kindness trail through a watercolour wood, travelled by six friends: Finn the fox, Pip the rabbit, Ollie the owl, Dilly the mallard duck, Hettie the hedgehog, and Scamp the squirrel. Each tale turns on one small, kind choice — sharing a puddle, waiting a turn, saying thank you, saying sorry, listening properly, or offering help before it is asked for.

Every tale is hand-illustrated in a soft watercolour style and narrated aloud so children can read along at their own pace. The app is designed to slow things down — encouraging calm, mindful reading rather than fast-paced screen time. A built-in night mode softens colours for bedtime, optional woodland sounds set the scene, and every finished tale reveals a sticker, so the child's own trail grows brighter with each story read.

The first tale, The Trail of Glowing Leaves, is free to enjoy forever. Every other tale along the trail can be unlocked individually for 50p, or all twelve can be unlocked at once for £4.50 — a one-time payment that lasts a lifetime. There are no subscriptions, no ads, and no in-app pressure.

Slow Tale Time is built by a small, independent team of storytellers, illustrators, and parents who believe that the best stories are the ones children return to again and again. We created Slow Tale Time because we wanted a digital storybook that feels like a real book — warm, gentle, and made with care.
